| THE COW
To manufacture gold and silver
foil (varkh) for decoration on sweets, paan and
ayruvedic concoctions, thin strips of metal are
placed between the ox-gut of freshly slaughtered
cattle, bound in a calf leather pouch and pounded
for 8 hours. Is this glitter
really woth the gore?
Let us demand cruelty-free sweets
and medical products!
Why not use rollers instead?
THE LAMB
Besides meat, the other most common
product obtained from sheep is wool. Sheep reared
for wool are killed for meat at the end of their
wool-bearing years. When alternative fabrics like
cotton and acrylic are available to keep us warm,
why demand wool?
Demand cotton!
