| Cosmetics are
tested on animals so that they are safe for human
use. But, are the tests accurate and really SAFE?
Is the suffering we cause them really necessary?
Are the tests really worth their LIFE!?
Testing of chemicals by applying
it on their bodies and force feeding it directly
into their mouths causes excruciating pain and death.
It can easily be avoided if each individual would
make the decision to buy products that are NOT TESTED
ON ANIMALS and ARE CRUELTY FREE.
PERFUME: Civet musk is used as
a base. The civ et
is shoved into a small cage where it cannot even
raise its head. Every ten days it is whipped because
when it is in pain, it secrets musk in its pouch.
The pouch is then forced open and scraped with a
spatula. This is done every 10 days till the animal
dies. The timid Musk Deer, (endangered species )
is lured out of the dense Himalayan vegetation and
caught in a gin trap with spiked teeth which bite
into the foot. The animal lies there for days till
it dies. Then, if it has musk (Kasturi) it is collected,
if not it is thrown away as trash.
SHAMPOO: The rabbits head
is clamped in a hutch and the eyes pegged open with
metal clips. Concentrated shampoo is then dropped
in as the rabbit cries out loud in its agony, struggling
till it breaks its back (rabbits have no tear ducts).
SOAPS, LIPSTICKS, TALCUM POWDER,
HAIR DYES, ROUGE, EYESHADOW and other cosmetic products:
A tube is thrust down the throat of thousands of
Squirrel Monkeys squashed together in cages and
each item is fed in to find out at which dosage
level the animal dies.
AFTERSHAVE lotion: A guinea pig
is defuzzed by using adhesive tape which pulls the
hair of each patch of skin. The Aftershave is splashed
on and inspected days later for chemical burns.
The same animal is defuzzed repeatedly till the
aftershave mixture is just right or the pig dies.
BRUSHES: Shaving brushes, hair
brushes, boot polish brushes, eyeliner and rouge
brushes are made from the hair torn out of the handful
while the animal (in most cases its the Squirrels)
is still alive. For shaving brushes, the hog is
the victim. Trussed to the ground, it screams while
the labourer yanks out tuft after tuft of its hair. |
