      Infact All Religions Promote KARUNA

All the great teachers of humanity have laid stress on KARUNA or Compassion

Vedic Religion            Ahimsa Parama Dharma
Bauddha Dharma        The Basis of Dharma is Karuna
Christianity                 Thou Shalt not kill
Islam                          Whoever is kind to lesser creatures is kind to himself

Inspite of these preachings, animal cruelties have been increasing in all parts of the world and anmals are butchered to get meat, for use in industries, in chemicals, in research, in drugs and cosmetics, in insecticides and pesticides etc. Therefore, it was felt by educationists and thinkers that proper orientation should be given to the children so that they will be kind hearted when they grow up. In 1993 in U.S.A National Parent Teachers Association Congress declared that "Children trained to extend justice, kindness and mercy to animals become more kind, just and considerate in their relations with one another". "Humane education" is thus the teaching in schools and collegs of the nations the principles of justice, goodwill and humanity towards life. The cultivation of the spirit of kindness to animals is but the starting point towards such an ideal. A generation of people trained in these principles will solve the problems at an international level and encourage a bond of friendship rather than rivalry.
